Hidatei Hanaougi 飛騨亭 花扇: Beautiful outdoor onsen, some rooms with private outdoor onsen. Further away from the main shopping/restaurant area near train station, but they have shuttle service to/from and bikes. "Amazing, unforgettable", guests comment on tripadvisor.com.

Ryokan Kaminaka 旅館かみなか: Room with private bathroom available. Built in 1888, with a lot of old world charm. Due to efforts to preserve the purely Japanese architectural style which has remained unchanged since it was first built, the building has been designated as a registered tangible cultural property of Japan. Temple Hotel Zenkoji 宿坊 善光寺: Ryokan in a temple. Be aware, that the Moon room and the Sakura room are facing the street and noisy. Ask for a garden room. Hana room is facing the garden. There is a "hidden" tunnel under the temple. Downstairs you walk in complete darkness, touching the wall with your left hand. The Ryokan offers acitivities as Zen Meditation, Shakyo, Yoga meditation, Kimono wearing and Singing Bowl. Read mixed reviews on tripadvisor.com.
